Transition - Feedback & Meeting

Image
When we had our Transition feedback Simon gave us some good pointers to work on. Some things we need to focus on before we start filming; New scenes to be added within the script We need more dramatic scene - montages shouldn't be boring  We are still waiting to confirm our location at the 'Diner' in the studios I had found both of our main characters (Alex, Ben) from Mancy.com they are both very keen on working with us and cannot wait to get started. Shot list to be created - Laura and I are planning to do this  Me being a director i really want to get a drone and shoot some dorne footage but i'm not sure if we are able to get hold of one. Some pinters Simon gave us from the Meeting; Adding more detail into the script - what are we actually filming?  Getting laura to test shoot with some equipment before the filming day  Break all the shots down - be organised!  The montage needs a lot more thoughts Thinking about the transition between the montage and

I have taken charge of finding the correct actors for our 'Riverdale' re-make. There were a lot of professional actors who had applied for the position but only 2 made the cut.  Ben will be playing the role of 'Jughead Jones' he is orignally from London and has been acting for a few years now. He really fit in the role of Jughead sine he is very mysterious and dark, we made sure that he could also do a American accent since we wanted to go ahead and follow that along with the real show. I wached a lot of Ben's showreels and he was fantastic for the role of jughead, the character itself is smart, sharp-tounged, laid-back, easy going and eccentric high school student. He's obsessed with eating food, and in some storylines is asextual. Most see him asbeing lazy but he is smart. Always seen in black clothes in hoodies and sweatshirts. He also wears a beanie hat through every episode. Me being a director i made sure that all of our actors are wearing the correct

Transitions - Idea prep + Group

Image
We have now started to prepare for our last unit of the second year 'Transitions' and i am very excited. Transitions is supposed to prepare us for the third year and really make us focus on our own roles as Directors, Vision mixers, Camera Op's etc. I have a passion for Directing and i really wanted to create something fantastic but i didn't manage to find a group. Until i had my meeting with Simon he had told me that i would struggle a little bit by myself because this unit is particularly difficult in solos, he told me that Conor, Amiee, and Laura were looking for a Director and quickly i got attached to their group and idea of shooting 'Riverdale'. Riverdale has blown up all over the world, the beautiful camera work and cinematography really makes it stand out. We were also thinking of doing 13 reasons why but it is very darl, we are thinking of doing this exact scene from where Cheryl and Jason drive to sweet water river. I had a look on Mandy.com and foun

As Live Production - Critical Project Evaluation

We had an amazing TX day, everything went very smoothly and everyone was happy with the results. Everyone came in the morning to prepare for each of their roles, i had to keep in mind to give out all the intercoms (talkbacks) to everyone who needed one. Everyone kept to their own roles and took charge. I was prepared with my script and talk-back ready for the audience to come it. Ths production was one of the biggest projects i have ever done, within the crew/contributors and content. Going into such a big project i was nervous and scared since i never worked with so many people at once. Because we are such a big group a lot of us were worried that we wouldn't listen to each-other and the show would end up a mess but it was a complete opposite of that. It started off with each one of us creating a pitch in January, we all did a great job but the pitching panel thought that 'Steal the Style' would bring something completely different to the table. I think mine and Callums

As Live Production - TX and Final Rehersal

Image
Today was the day we were all preparing for! 'Steal the Style' went live! Everything egan shart at 9:00am, since the lighting and set team had to come in early to get started. Most of the work had to be completed way before the transmission hour which was 14:00. First thing me and George got to doing is setting up talkbacks and giving them out, these have an effective communication between everyone within the gallery and floor. Everyone was set and ready to go with final rehersals that started first thing in the morning, during these rehersals we were feeling confident. We were hitting our 30 minute mark and nothing had gone wrong. Everyone was ready our presenters, contributors, models, techs, first years etc. Both me and George had to make sure that all camer ops recieve a talkback and each one of us (Me, George, Jack) as the floor managers. We had a spare talkback which was given to Harvey Amiees sound assistant. We had one talkback that was broken and couldn&

As Live Production - Studio Factual Programme - 'The Jermeny Kyle Show'

Image
I have been watching Jeremy Kyle for a very long time know, it is a Factual As Live Studio programme with billions of viewers every day. The Jeremy Kyle Show is recorded and broadcasted every day from the ITV studios, every episode is at-least 49 minutes long and the show is currently in its 14th season. The Jeremy Kyle Show began in 2005. The way that the show is filmed is very real and exciting to watch, contributors and guest's take part in the show to help solve issues within their families or relationships. Jeremy Kyle offers real DNA results and lie detector tests to discover the truth between the relationships. Within the entire show, Jeremy Kyle himself and the entire team provide external help for their individuals that seek it from the show. The programme itself uses a very simple seating stage, it is basic with 2 separate sofa chairs near each other with a plasma screen in the middle. This is something that we had used within our own programme 'Steal the Styl
