Transition - Re-shoot
Since the last meeting we had with Simon he had told us that the montage we have doesn't work, it looks too much like a doccumentary and doesn't give him any 'Dreamy' feel at all. I stepped into the game and decided that we need to re-shoot that posibbly either in Ashford on Herne Bay. I found a lot of nice places to film in Herne Bay and i thought the guys should take a leap and go film there, due to work commitments i couldn't attend the shoot. I made sure i was always on hand and helping, making a direct sheet of what i want filmed and where these shots should be filmed.
The first location i found was the Clock Tower - which was a great representation of the entire show. It looked a lot like the Riverdale clock tower so i was happy with the find. After some feedback from the team i know Laura kept switching between 3 lenses, they all took different shots which Simon suggested. Laura did a lot of pull focuses during these shots which i found very interesting. We needed to change the car element shot since it looked too much like the documentary, i suggested a blurred vision of two people walking out of the car - which looked really great.
Simon also told us that we rerely see the main two characters - how do we know their stories? I couldn't cast at such short notice so Katie and Conor stepped in as stand-ins within the shoot. I wanted to get a shot of someones hair just like in one of the episodes in riverdale. I made sure all of this was included in the sheet i gave the team when they went out to shoot.
I feel like the out of focus shots worked really well, it looked a lot more dreamier and cinematic - which is what i wanted to achieve. Simon gave us some great feedback that we worked on well, without his feedback the project would still look unprofessional.
