Even though i was not able to make this trip my group informed me of what happened and what they learnt that day, so i decided to write about what they have told me and make sure to learn from it also. The main reason for the visit to the Dockyard was to film a section of the dockyard and film a sequence so that we could practice filming on a busy location with public. My group also needed to consider risk assessments and permissions. Without permission you are not allowed to film with a camera crew and big Sony Cameras. Once the tour was over for my group they had an assignment to do. It was to create an attraction film. They were given ropery, and they had to carry out a risk assessment to make sure that the filming was safe enough to proceed with. My group ended up realising that after they had filmed their clips there was a number of issues with their footage. We have been working on our idea for some time now and since our tutorials with Zoe and Helen they have really given us some things to think about. We as a group made ourselves a open word document where we can all pitch things to each other and edit word documents. We have been adding character Logs and we have been editing our synopsis and pitch. Narrative / Style: Our documentary will follow the perspective of the presenter, Alex Hargood, as he embarks on the task of discovering why fewer teenagers are seeking to drive.  The main focus of the documentary will be to see how a young person (Alex) copes with having his car locked away, so we can see the benefits and drawbacks of using public transport and other means of travel to get him through his daily routines. Scripting Lecture All programming is to a lesser or greater extent scripted.  Factual programmes face particular ethical challenges when it comes to how far they should be scripted and the ethical questions relating to the constructed nature of the genre.  We will be examining this dilemma and the ways in which you can use a script to determine your film’s narrative and explore your storytelling. When having our workshop with Zoe we were discussing all of our ideas, we had a few but we found them difficult to approach to a teenage audience. We started talking about teenagers and driving, and how less and less teenagers are taking driving lesson etc. Zoe really loved that idea and suggested we research a lot into it and find places we could go and film. She mentioned that this would really aim at a teenager audience for BBC 3 and it would be really interesting. We then started to of think of people we could film such as Driving Instructors and actual Teenagers maybe learning on how to drive. We already have a close friendship with a lot of people who are taking driving lessons and we keep in touch with our driving instructors. We were thinking of going to the Theory test centre and asking on the statistics of how many people passed/failed, that would be very interesting because we are giving the audience pictures and also key research. Project Evaluation At the beginning on this unit i was very excited to get going because i love to direct. I finally took it into my own hands to practice hiring actors and asking other for locations. It wasn't an easy job but it prepared me for bigger projects that are about to arise. What i wanted to focus on mostly in this project was the Lighting and colour grading due to that being David Fincher's key style. When i looked into his work i know that one things i had to live up to was Fincher's colour tints. I really think i worked very hard on this project, i really wanted it to come out perfectly and the way in envisioned it. Of course there is a lot of room for improvement but in contrast to my first project it is a huge difference and a massive step up. Sonia Zelenicka Directs David Fincher When we first got the introduction to the Directions unit i was so excited, one of my favourite things is to Direct. During my first project i realised that screenwriting wasn't my thing but i still had to give it a go and try, when i then went on to film and direct my own project i loved every minute of it. This project taught me so much of how to be a brilliant director. First thing i realised is that i had to always treat my crew and team nicely, provide them with help and always be positive. If your crew feels like you appreciate their work they will work well with you and make sure that your project ends up perfectly. I absolutely loved to work with my crew and i hope to have them on my other projects. Another thing i really focused on this project was key lighting, we had a few workshops about lighting and now it became one of my favourite things to play around with while filming and also in post-production.
