Digital News - Ideas and Pitch

Hidden Events

When we were done with the briefing of the unit Helen asked us to form a group to be in for this unit. Me, Callum, Joni and Amber formed a group and started to discuss the kind of TV News we could film. After we have been discussing for a while Amber mentioned that there was an opened air cinema that will be in Rochester next weekend, we instantly jumped on the idea and started to brain storm from it.

Callum started ti think about all the event that are hidden from the public and not a lot of people think about. We all then came up with the idea that we should do a TV News production about all the hidden events that are based in Kent. We could really take advantage of this idea as it reaches a good age range of people between 15-30 and it could also reach out to people who love particular event.

Thinking about the idea more we decided to do the live element on the open-aired cinema and then try and research more into the hidden gems of Kent. We were originally going to expand the idea all the way to London areas but Helen thought that it would be more interesting if we stuck to Kent as this is where our audience is located.

I started to do my own research into the hidden locations/events in Kent and found many that i had never known about!

The Luna cinema is something truly extraordinary, i thought that open cinemas have been gone forever but i was mistaken.

We had a lot of ideas about secret locations in London but now we need to dig deeper for Kent!
