Fashion Fails – Internet Shopping Websites

I have actually experiences these issues in the past with ‘Online Shopping’ you can never be sure if what you order is what you will actually get. I have researched a few websites that have this issue and how could we possibly stop them?

The first website that has caught my eye is ‘Zaful’. This online store describes itself as ‘Trendy women’s fashion’ it started off with just bikini sales but developed into clothing also – I have noticed this online store getting more and more attention due to Youtuber sponsorships, Zaful sent Bikinis and clothing for free to popular Youtubers to review them. This is where some of their stuff really came differently to what was show online. Most of their bikinis are VERY small when ordered in a Medium or Small, ‘It would fit a child’ one Youtuber mentioned while reviewing the clothing off the site. You cannot tell a lot from their pictures either, there is no description of material and their prices are also not ‘Cheap’. I feel like this store will be slowly closing due to the honest reviews Youtubers are making.

Another website I had discovered was ‘Wish’ most of their items look very ‘FAKE’. They don’t only sell clothing but other everyday items such as Home Decor, Makeup ect. I have researched into this website and all of their ‘Prom Dresses’ are crafted and shipped from China, so what can we expect? It is cheaply made and in general CHEAP!

When I typed in ‘Wish’ into google I came across thousands of reviews telling me not to purchase any ‘Wedding, Prom’ dresses from the website, that it is an absolute scam! But people still order many things from the website because they simply do not read the reviews and don’t return their items. This online store is still doing very well and doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere. In this case I feel like making the reviews more public and really showing online shoppers what they are ordering, just like these two! Maybe then people will understand that the website is pretty much a scam!

Another online store has made its way to the online retail called ‘SHEIN’ it is very similar to Zaful but only just started selling women’s clothing. Once again I came across Shein on Youtube and Twitter when shoppers started to rage at the company due to cheap clothing materials and FALSE advertisement! However, Shein is much cheaper compared to Zaful.

Many people have tried this website and came across some nice quality sweaters and PJ sets but when it came to jeans, bikinis, underwear it was a hit and miss. It is also very suspicious that on pretty much every item Shein has ‘Brilliant 4/5*’ reviews. I feel like there are thousands of these online shops that ‘sponsor’ many people to get more and more innocent online shoppers to buy their awfully made clothing. It is an absolute disaster, but at-least it did not cost a fortune. I think there is an issue where we automatically want to buy clothes that are below £10/£5 but we do not realize that these clothes will not match our expectations.

VT idea for Fashion Fails

I think it would be a great idea to try these online shops out and order a few items of each one, we could then try on the clothes and really investigate further if it is truly a fashion fail and we were misleaded by false advertisement on the website. I feel like the viewers would really engage in this and would be a brilliant way to experiment these online stores. Is it better to visit them or is it better to spend not a lot of money and be disappointed?
