As Live Production - Rebecca jenkins (Floor Manager Research)

When looking for well know Floor Managers it's diffuclt to find any, they are not credited enough! I have researched Rebecca Jenkins before i started my own work as a floor manager. Becky is a Floor Manager on The well known Jeremy Kyle Show. She is orignally from Norwich and studied at the Norwich City College. She had started her journey as a Floor Manager on Jeremy Kyle back in 2005 and currently still holds the position.

Becky has worked as an Assistant Floor Manager on many different studio production, such as Turn Back Time (BBC2 Production) The Springer Show (ITV Production) The Quater Mass Experience (BBC Production). Jeremy absolutely loves working with Becky, she is fantastic at her job and has a lot of experience behind her.

Just like Becky i had to manage the floor crew and guests, Becky has a difficult job of dealing with Guest's who are difficult and have anger issues so she does get a little worked up during her time as a floor manager. She is a mother and a wife, juggling a very busy lifestyle with also being a floor manager on one of the biggest ITV studio productions.

Becky find's her job not as hard due to the size of the set and the amount of people working on it, since the set is so small she can manage her guest's well and her crew in one place. Since the Cameras (most of them) are hand held she doesn't need to worry about any coverage that might not look good on transmission. While there is only about 3 cameras recording, she is aware of each and every one of them. If anything goes wrong to one she will know exactly when to alert the director and thnk of a resolution.

Since Becky has over 15 years of experience in the industry she thinks quick on her feet, when it comes to problem solving she will know what to do. When a guests runs off stage she will talk through the talk-backs (intercom) to alert all camera ops and crew members to where they should be and where the guest is heading. Becky will usually be chasing the guest herself making sure that all Health and Saftey is being followed, she doesn't want anyone to trip over camera cables or go out the wrong exit.

I feel like Becky does a great job, when i re-watch episodes of the show nothing goes wrong everything is in place and well looked after. I really wish i could one day experience working with Becky herself since i have fallen in love with managing a studio floor.
