As Live Production - Set Design

Image
Personally i love the set design that we have planned, the team from UCA is also great and they are very keen on working with out set. We all need to think abou the set designers, costume, graphic, props etc because without these the production would look dull and boring. We need to makesure that deadlines are met and we need to monitor what is exactly happening with our set, it's crazy to think that the set will be made on the day because we don't want anything to go wrong. Our set is very colourful and simple so it shouldn't be an issue to make, we need to consider the size, height and practicallity for the set. We initially want the set to look cosy and casual, making sure the colour palet stays the same throughout. I am very excited to see what the set will look like when it actually built, the producers and directors had a meeting already with the set designers from UCA and they are excited to start working on it.

As Live Production - 'Steal The Style' + Testing an idea

Image
After everyones hard work to pitch their ideas Katie's and Mellissa's idea got commisioned 'Steal The Style'. I always loved the idea and was very excited that it got chosen, i myself also love fashion and bloggers. I have been following fashion bloggers for a long time now and i have seen how they work. Since our pitching sessions we also had job interviews which we were all excited for also! We were all happy with the jobs we recieved ecpecially me by being the 'Floor Manager, VT researcher'.  We also had our first prodution meeting which was very helpful and had a lot of information for us to go out an research. We are all working now, i have taken it upon myself to start researching for out VT products. I have been following a girl called 'Gosia' on instagram for a long time now and she feels like a perfect fit for one of our VT segments.  She is a fashion icon for a lot of her followers and also has her own blog.  https://ohmygo

As Live Production - 3D Studio Design

Image
While working on the Music bed Callum managed to get hold of one of his friends who could produce us a 3D set design, this was great because we could get a exact idea of what we would want the set to look like. We wanted to make sure that our set is curved and the cameras do not film anything outside of the shot, which was an issue in previous studio productions. The audience will also be sitting down and won't be on a platform. Another thing Callum told me is that the software they used to design this set let them see all different angles that the camera would see which is fantastic and very helpful. It is important to make sure we have an idea what the set design would look like so we can make sure that it is duable and not imposibble. The platform also has a raised platform so this could raise some difficulty. Since our whole gameshow had a lot of going on and many people playing different games, we wanted to make sure that the set was wide enough to fit 2-3 groups of p

As Live Production - Musicbed Planing

Image
I have been creating a musicbed for our 'Production Prep' i need to find the perfect tracks for the opening and closing graphics. I have been looking on a website called 'The Music Bed' and they have thousands of copyright free music that fits our pitch and production. I needed to make sure to use music that isn't pop generated and made very famous people, that would be very difficult to get copyrighted. 'Split Second' was one of the tracks that me and Callum fell in love with. We both decided it would be a great fit for our 'Game' section in our production. I also really liked the track 'The Dating Game' because it fits so well with the entire production where we test all different kinds of reletionships. But with this track we wouldn't be able to use it so we would have to create something posibbly similar. https://vimeo.com/31687727 While choosing these tracks we wanted to make sure to credit the artists or who owned the

As Live Production - 'As Live'

As Live advantages - Less left to chance a la true live - more control and it is more polished  The oppertunity to re-record elements of the programme and making improvements to certain shots They do not require the technical paraphernalia of live transmissions - no satellite trucks Cost reduced Do not feel rushed As Live disadvantages - Trying to manufacture a feeling of a true live programme Truly live programmes are less polished  Tension of a live programme hard to re-create  Audiences The audience can take a number of roles; Passive Active - taking part in some way Appreciative/active  Supportive What role they play depends on the type of format you are producing - value judgements As live content - theoretically, anything can be presented in an as-live format. It is only limited by considerations such as - time! It is absolutely essential that as lives consider timing - a simple discussuion around the viability of an idea in terms of timing could well d

As Live Production - Researching for the 'Pitch'

We have about a week left before our pitch and I started to do some research on how to present our pitch since I and Callum had different ideas we decided to merge them together. I wanted to create more of a Family Show that is focused on family drama, this then evolved into Callum's idea of 'Room for two' where we not only had families on the show but different kinds of relationships. I then started to think of games that these people could play, such as the 'Paper Dress'. This is our work in progress presentation we have started! Breakdown of the show: We aim to have 5 rounds of fun interactive games that test different parts of relationships, like communication skills, patience. Incase the contestants draw we have a deadlock game set up. Tester - toilet role game (interact!) - have a music bed 30 sec 'Paper Dress' is a game I thought of with Callum where the participants create a wedding dress out of toilet paper within 1-2 minutes. 25-w

As Live Production - Brain-storming ideas

Image
So I started to think of studio ideas that could possibly be an option, I have thought of 3 initial ideas that I personally like and could become one of our productions. Naughty Neighbour IQ 1-10 Family Jealousy  1 Woman 6 Shirts Say yes to the 'Fake' dress Some of these ideas are better than others but I personally like all of them, they can all be developed and worked on. I'm also not 100% of the names but this is what I'm currently pitching and working on; - Naughty Neighbour -  This idea came to me while i was actually speaking to one of my neighbors and i saw how much they hate their next door neighbor. I could also sense a lot of anger that the neighbor had towards the other person, and that is when an idea struck me. This would consist of 2-4 neighbors on the live production expressing their feelings to each other, we would have each of them explain their stories and the host would pick the 'winner' of who he thinks is right. The neighbor th
