Digital News - Editing Feedback

After i had made a few changes to the Folkestone edit i sent it to everyone in the group so they can tell me if they wanted anything changed or added. This is my second export i had done with the sound effects added and music + all the colour correction. My group came up with some great feedback to make this sequence even better.

-Skip Dianes first question
-Sound is too low - raise the GAIN
-Add cover shots in Cafe Teria
-Shorten Marcin walking into the cafe
-Music is too loud?
-Voice Over needs to have more energy?
-Add Folkestone cover shots over Diane

All of this i took into mind and made sure i covered it all, i had adjusted the gain and made sure that the whole sequence is shorter as we only had 2:30 minutes for this entire sequence. There is still much more i want to do with this but i will get more Feedback as i feel like the entire group deserves a say on it.

What i also noticed is on some of the shots the camera lens has rain drops on it which is very unfortunate, now we cannot do anything about it as we didn't see it while we were recording. It is not a major issue but it does cause a little bit of annoyance while watching it myself! I have now improved a lot in the sequence and can't wait to show it to my group and Sam.

I have now uploaded a third export of the sequence and the feedback is even better, there is not much that i need to do anymore, me Amber and Joni will now merge this sequence with the studio part and the moonlight drive in cinema for our final project.


I am very proud of how much i have improved this sequence/project, getting feedback from the group is also very helpful because they can see things that i might have missed and its also a learning curve.

Overall we still need to make this a little bit shorter as it is still very long BUT a huge improvement from the ones before hand, i'm going to try and cut down Diane's interview and also the coffee shop interview.

While coming up with my proposal i really wanted to discover more about John Clare. John was born in 1793 and was a very famous poet, he was born as the son of a farm labourer and did not have much money. Many individuals state that Clare is 'the greatest labouring class poet that England has ever produced' since he came from a very poor background. While reading up on his background it was very hard, he had a troubled childhood and was also sent to an asylum where he had written most of his poems. Fashion Fails – Internet Shopping Websites I have actually experiences these issues in the past with ‘Online Shopping’ you can never be sure if what you order is what you will actually get. I have researched a few websites that have this issue and how could we possibly stop them? The first website that has caught my eye is ‘Zaful’ . This online store describes itself as ‘Trendy women’s fashion’ it started off with just bikini sales but developed into clothing also – I have noticed this online store getting more and more attention due to Youtuber sponsorships, Zaful sent Bikinis and clothing for free to popular Youtubers to review them. This is where some of their stuff really came differently to what was show online. Most of their bikinis are VERY small when ordered in a Medium or Small, ‘It would fit a child’ one Youtuber mentioned while reviewing the clothing off the site. As Live Production - First look into Studio Production (workshop)

Today we had a very exciting workshop with Del, it was our first go at working in a real Studio Production atmosphere. We all had a go at different jobs such as Floor Managin, Sound, Directing, VT, Talent etc. We also had a go at playing around in the gallery and seeing what it takes to be a vocal Director. We all had a go and realised that when we go live all of us tone our voices down and really start to focus very strongly on what to say and what shot to play live. I had so much fun during this workshop but found out that most of the jobs are very difficult! Escpecially my own, being a floor manager comes with many different responsibilities. I realised that i had to really nail my 'Floor Manager' hand signals. I also found it difficult to manage the talent, Del told me that i had to be nexto each camera when live so that the talent can look at you and the correct camera.
