Digital News - Filming day 2 [Escape Hub]

It has been a fantastic day filming today! We were able to choose our own room that we wanted to film in and we had control of pretty much anything so the possibilities were endless. As you can see from this picture the location already looks amazing, in the rooms they also allowed us to play around the LED lighting where we could make the room any colour we wanted. Victoria was our amazing presenter who did a fantastic job for us and we enjoyed filming with her. Within this shoot we didn't have many issues which was actually amazing, we shot the entire sequence within 1 hour. There was only a few things to shoot but thanks to the brilliant location and a prepared presenter we had no issues and everything went very smoothly.

The entire concept of the location was to escape the room within 60 minutes which we found very interesting and it made a great studio location. Since our entire project is about discovering Kent's hidden location this was a great find. There was around 8 rooms all together but we decided to choose the most crazy and bonkers room to make sure our viewers are interested and we reach all of our viewers from the ages 16-45. Amber and Callum were both focusing on camera work while me and Joni did sound and lighting as well as directing and making sure Victoria remembers her lines.


While we were filming we wanted to literally get locked into the room and try to escape but we did not want to hold up any bookings the company had. Getting the location was also fairly easy as the owner was so nice to us and very happy for us to film, many thanks to Alex. We thought it would be difficult to film in this room due to the lighting being so different but it was actually fairly simple. Since we had the LED lights to act and the fillers and mains the lighting worked out great, we also used the purple tint to our advantage and made it more different. It's great to make these contacts and keep them in the loop as we never know when we might need them, Alex was also very happy to participate as this will get A LOT of younger people coming to the escape hub. I didn't even know it existed until now and i want to go and book a place!

While coming up with my proposal i really wanted to discover more about John Clare. John was born in 1793 and was a very famous poet, he was born as the son of a farm labourer and did not have much money. Many individuals state that Clare is 'the greatest labouring class poet that England has ever produced' since he came from a very poor background. While reading up on his background it was very hard, he had a troubled childhood and was also sent to an asylum where he had written most of his poems. I chose the Trespass poem due to me really having a strong connection to it. I feel as John Clare felt a lot of loneliness and pain during the time that this poem was written. Fashion Fails – Internet Shopping Websites I have actually experiences these issues in the past with ‘Online Shopping’ you can never be sure if what you order is what you will actually get. I have researched a few websites that have this issue and how could we possibly stop them? The first website that has caught my eye is ‘Zaful’ . This online store describes itself as ‘Trendy women’s fashion’ it started off with just bikini sales but developed into clothing also – I have noticed this online store getting more and more attention due to Youtuber sponsorships, Zaful sent Bikinis and clothing for free to popular Youtubers to review them. This is where some of their stuff really came differently to what was show online. Most of their bikinis are VERY small when ordered in a Medium or Small, ‘It would fit a child’ one Youtuber mentioned while reviewing the clothing off the site. As Live Production - First look into Studio Production (workshop)

Today we had a very exciting workshop with Del, it was our first go at working in a real Studio Production atmosphere. We all had a go at different jobs such as Floor Managin, Sound, Directing, VT, Talent etc. We also had a go at playing around in the gallery and seeing what it takes to be a vocal Director. We all had a go and realised that when we go live all of us tone our voices down and really start to focus very strongly on what to say and what shot to play live. I had so much fun during this workshop but found out that most of the jobs are very difficult! Escpecially my own, being a floor manager comes with many different responsibilities. I realised that i had to really nail my 'Floor Manager' hand signals. I also found it difficult to manage the talent, Del told me that i had to be nexto each camera when live so that the talent can look at you and the correct camera.
